REBEL takes period instruments to Westport / REBEL apporte ses instruments d’époque à Westport

The New York-based baroque group REBEL takes up Corelli's Sonata Op. 4, No. 10 in G major in this short video. Originally formed in The Netherlands in 1991, REBEL was named after the French Baroque composer Jean-Féry Rebel (1666-1747). Group members Jörg-Michael Schwarz (violin and viola), Karen Marie Marmer (violin and viola), Matthias Maute (recorder and transverse flute), John Moran (cello) and Dongsok Shin (harpsichord and organ). The group performs next at the Westport Arts Center in Connecticut on February 6th. The program, titled Irregular Pearls, marks the first-ever period-instrument performance at the Westport Arts Center.

Le groupe baroque REBEL de New York joue la Sonate opus 4, n^o 10 en sol majeur de Corelli dans ce court vidéoclip. Le groupe qui fut formé aux Pays-Bas en 1991 porte le nom du compositeur français de l’époque baroque Jean-Féry Rebel (1666-1747). Les membres du groupe sont Jörg-Michael Schwarz (violon et alto), Karen Marie Marmer (violon et alto), Matthias Maute (flûte à bec et flûte traversière), John Moran (violoncelle) et Dongsok Shin (clavecin et orgue). Le groupe se produira au Westport Arts Center dans le Connecticut le 6 février prochain. Le programme intitulé Irregular Pearls offrira pour la première fois au Westport Arts Center une prestation avec des instruments d’époque.
