For the past 40 years or so Alfred Brendel has been recognized as one of the greatest pianists of his generation. In his chosen repertoire - mostly Austrian and German composers from Mozart to Schoenberg, Brendel was masterly. He has a huge recorded legacy and has written about music with great insight. But sadly, the time has come. Brendel has retired from the concert platform. This video provides a glimpse into his personal and artistic life.
