Dudamel in Berlin / Dudamel à Berlin

Gustavo Dudamel has just finished his first season as music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, but he is also fulfilling guest conducting engagements all over the world. One of his mentors was Simon Rattle so it is no surprise that Rattle invites him to Berlin at every opportunity. Here is Dudamel leading an ecstatic performance of Rachmaninov's Isle of the Dead. By the way, the whole performance is available direct from the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra as part of their innovative video streaming project. The concerts are a little pricey, but both the video and audio quality is outstanding, and there is definitely a 'you are there' feeling about these performances.

Gustavo Dudamel vient juste de terminer sa première saison à titre de directeur musical de l'Orchestre philharmonique de Los Angeles, et il a été invité à diriger des orchestres un peu partout dans le monde. Simon Rattle fut l'un de ses mentors : pas étonnant qu'il l'invite à Berlin à tout bout de champ! Voici Dudamel dans une interprétation exaltée de l'Île des morts de Rachmaninov. Cette représentation est disponible directement sur le site de l'Orchestre philharmonique de Berlin, qui a entrepris un projet innovateur de diffusion vidéo. Ces concerts sont loin d'être gratuits, mais la qualité du son et de l'image est exceptionnelle et on a vraiment l'impression d'être là, dans la salle.
