Ensemble Ditto storms Korea

This promo video from last year gives a pretty good idea of what this all-male group is about: glamour, virtuosity, and great chamber music.

Founded in 2007 by violist Richard Yongjae O’Neill, Ensemble Ditto, with its annual Ditto Festival in South Korea, quickly made a name for themselves in that country's classical music scene. This year's festival, which kicked off on June 22 and goes until July 4, featured violinist Joshua Bell and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Orchestra in the opening concert.

Ensemble Ditto is consisted of some of the fastest rising stars in classical music. They appear to be based in North America, with most rehearsals taking place in New York City. This year's players, all under the age of 35, include O'Neill, violinist Stefan Jackiw, violinist Shunske Sato, pianist Ji-Yong, and cellist Michael Nicolas, who is the associate principal cello of Montreal Symphony Orchestra.
