Children's Music Books About Vivaldi Launched in Texas / Lancement de livres d’enfants sur Vivaldi au Texas

Earlier this month the children's book Anna Maria's Gift was launched in Austin, Texas. The venue was the downtown independent store called Book People. The author of the book is Janice Shefelman who already has a number of other children's books to her credit. One of them is I, Vivaldi, also a book designed to interest children in classical music. I, Vivaldi was published in 2008 by Eerdmann's Books for Young Readers and is handsomely illustrated by the author's husband Tom.


Anna Maria's Gift is published by Random House with illustrations by Robert Papp. In this video made at the launch party the author read an excerpt from the book, and Gelsomina Meglino played music by Vivaldi. The book tells the story of a young girl who is sent to an orphanage in Venice after the death of her father. One of the teachers at the orphanage is the great composer Antonio Vivaldi, and under his tutelage Anna Maria learns to play the violin and find happiness. Au début du mois a été publié  un livre d’enfants intitulé Anna Maria's Gift à Austin, au Texas, dont le lancement a été célébré à une librairie indépendante du centre-ville, Book People. L’auteure, Janice Shefelman, a déjà plusieurs livres d’enfants à son actif, parmi lesquels I, Vivaldi, qui vise également à stimuler l’intérêt des enfants pour la musique classique.
