The Round Top Festival Institute in Texas 2010 / L’édition 2010 du Festival de musique de l’atelier Round Top au Texas

 

You may have read my recent blog about a visit to the Round Top Festival Institute in Texas. It is still available under the title Round Top, Texas: The Impossible Dream? Here is a video to go along with my words. It contains a brief excerpt from one of the orchestral concerts I heard: Brahms Double Concerto with soloists Federico Agostini, violin, and Emilio Colon, cello. Christoph Campestrini conducts the Texas Festival Orchestra. Agostini is an Associate Professor at Indiana University and a former member of I Musici, and Emilio Colon is a former student of Janos Starker and also an Associate Professor at Indiana University.

The video also includes a visit to one of the museums attached to the Festival Concert Hall: the Anders Gustav Fredrik and Josephine Oxehufwud Museum Room. This beautiful room contains personal possessions donated to the festival by members of a distinguished Swedish family who lived in Central Texas. Cette magnifique salle de musée contient des biens personnels donner au Festival par des membres d’une famille suédoise distinguée qui ont vécu au centre du Texas.
