Kronos Quartet and Inuit Throat Singer Collaborate on Nunavut / Le Kronos Quartet et l’interprète de chant guttural Tanya Tagaq collaborent dans Nunavut

"A String Quartet in Her Throat," directed by Mark Lawrence, documents the collaboration between Kronos Quartet and Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq on a piece called Nunavut. The project began in January 2006 as Kronos and Tagaq came together in the Yukon Territory and created a 15-minute piece that can be described as an "intimate improvisation."

Nunavut is part of an evening-length program of the same name that explores the clarity, directness, and unique relationships of music and sounds from the North. More info can be found at www.kronosquartet.org.

Le documentaire A string Quartet in Her Throat, réalisé par Mark Lawrence, explore la collaboration entre le Kronos Quartet et l’interprète de chant guttural Tanya Tagaq dans la pièce Nunavut. Le projet vit le jour en janvier 2006 lorsque le Quatuor et Mme Tagaq se sont réunis au Yukon où ils créèrent une pièce de 15 minutes qui peut être décrite comme étant une improvisation intime.
